Day #21: Last day with my hostfamily, yummy pancakes and a really hot day again

Hey everyone!
As today was my last day with my amazing and just wonderful hostfamily, G decided to bake some Oreo- and S'mores-Pancakes for me. They were so good! :D
Afterwards, I went shopping with my hostmum and I bought an adapter for my laptop, as it did not fit into my other adapters and a cup to put in pens or sweets for my desk in my dorm. Aditionally, we went foodshopping again to buy sausages for lunch and fruits.
Then, G and I spent nearly the whole day in my room, as it had around 95 degrees outside and as my room has an "air conditioner" which made my room to the coldest one in the whole house! We first personalized our notebooks and then watched some TV, while we were putting our feet into a bowl with cold water... Soooo refreshing! When the Boys came home, we all had some things for lunch (I had a Turkey-cheese-Sandwich and a Nectarine) and me and Gabriela just stayed in my room to watch the rest of the TV Show.
After having some sausages with Spargel :D and the German mustard I brought with me, we had a delicious dessert: Vanilla ice cream with Whipped Cream and Hot Fudge. I loove Hot Fudge!!! :D
As it was already 9:00 p.m. and the boys are having school tomorrow, they went to bed and I put some tape on my notebooks to protect the selfmade "Stickers" with my name on it. And I also finished packing all my things back into my suitcases. Because of the parcel from Germany and some things like sheets, comforter etc. it became a lot more! :D

As I'm moving to school tomorrow and start my "Orientation", I will probably have lots of things to do, so that I maybe won't be able to post something every day. After the Orientation, which ends next monday, my "normal" school will start and as nothing special will happen every day, I decided to write one post per week, probably mostly between friday evening and sunday noon. If anyone wants to skype with me, this will be the best time as well. (And I would love o hear from Germany! :))

I really can't believe that I'm here for already three weeks now, because time runs so fast! Although I would love to be with all of you in Germany, I really enjoy my time here and I'm looking Forward to moving into School ! (I would love to stay with my hostfamily though... :))

Love,
Sophie

Day #20: Just a lazy day and Foodshopping

Hey everyone!
Although nobody had to go to work/School today, it was a really lazy day (for me :)). The only Thing that we Didi (besides of reading and eating crushed ice because it has more than 90 degrees!!!) was foodshopping. We went to a normal Supermarket, which was similar to the German "Rewe". There were lots of Sweets and other unhealthy things, but I "only" bought two Sweets: a new Kind of Skittles and Nerds. I can't wait to try them!

I'm sorry that this entry is that short, but nothing else happened! And I can't believe that I will move into MHS in only two days!!! :o

Love,
Sophie

Day #19: Church, Soccer Tournament again and Ice cream

Hey everyone!
Today, I had to get up quite early (7:15) as we went ´to the church at 8 o'clock. Unfortunately, it was a lot less interesting as last time. :/
After that, we came back home to eat (some more) breakfast, before we went to Harrison's next games. As they were playing very well again, they won their last game in the "Group stage" too and so they got into the semifinal! :) After having a hamburger for lunch and making a short break at Harrison's friend's pool again, we went back for the semifinal, which they won again! (5:1) Then we were just waiting for the final, which was one of the best and most exciting games I've ever seen! Although it was 1:0 (for the other Team) in the halftime break, Harrison's Team fighted back (with a beautiful Goal by Harrison) so that it was 2:2 at the end of the regular time. After a first extra time wwithout Goals, there was about half a Minute left, when one f Harrison's Team kicked the balll straight into the right Corner. Everybody was shouting and clapping and then the second extra time was gone and Lenox (Harrison's Team) was the winner of the U12-Boys-Tournament!
To "celebrate" this, we stopped at "Local Lee", the ice cream store where I had this delicious Chocolate Peanutbutter Cup Ice Cream, where I got "Bumpy Highway" this time, which was a chocolate based ice cream with almonds, chocolate Chips and marshmallows. It was soo good! *-*
Then, we just had some Tacos for dinner and watched the beautiful film "Blind Side" which I really love! :)

Love,
Sophie

Day #18: Skype, Soccer Tournament and Foodshopping

Hey everybody!
On Saturday, I put an Alarm on 7:30 a.m., as I wanted to skype with my parents. It was really helpful and I'm absolutely sure now, that I will Change my Fashion Deesign into Photography.

After this and a Sandwich, we all (besides G who had preseason) went to a Soccer tournament, where Harrison had two games, one around 10:30 and one during prenoon. Harrison and his Team played really well and so they won their first game! (3:2). On the way back home, My hostmum took me with her to a big big Supermarket (which is usually for Restaurants or other businesses), where everything was in bigger size, for example a 54 ounces (~1,62kg) skittles size! :o
After having some Sandwiches for lunch, we went back to the tournament to watch Harrison's second game, which they won as well! (6:1) As it was really hot, we drove to the house of one of Harrison's teammates, where we jumped into their pool (I was hugged and jumped in the pool without purpose :D) and ate some Pizza.
At home, I just took a shower and we watched some TV!

Sophie

Day #17: Brunch, Target and delicious cookies

Hey everybody! :)
As I have been really tired from the day before, I slept until 10:30 a.m., before we went to a diner called "Otto's", where I had two egges, Bacon, Toast and homefries. It was really good, besides of the homefries, which I just didn't like. Afterwards, we drove to MH to bring G to preseason. I figured out that I'm living in Room 324, which is a small, but comfortable room in the Main Building. As the luggage didn't arrive yet, we (my hostmum, G's friend and me) went to Target to buy some Sport clothes for G#s friend, who went to preseason. I bought some clothes hanger, shampoo and some Little things for School. Additionally, I've seen lots of (crazy) m&m's like "Pumpkin spice" or "Birthday Cake". :) As the target also had a Starbucks, we went there and I got a really delicious and refreshing "Passion Tea Lemonade. Then, we brought G's friend to School for preseasonand went to see the first tournament of the MH Soccer Team. Unfortunately, they lost all three. :(
On the way back home, we stopped at G's graandparents' house to pick up the Cookies, which they baked for us, as "our" oven can't be fixed until the second week of September. The Cookies were sooooooooooo delicious!!!

Love,
Sophie

Day #16: JFK, a parcel from Germany and a delayed flight

Hey everybody!

As it's already 11:15 p.m., I'll write only very shortly about the day before yesterday. I hope that's okay for you! :)
As we actually wanted to pick up one of G's friend from JFK at 10:30, I put an alarm at 7.00 a.m. Unfortunately, her first flight was delayed, so that she missed her connection flight to America. Her "new flight" was scheduled to around 4:30! But as I wasn't able to sleep anymore, I just read in one of my boks from the Library Book Sale and ate my breakfast.
Some hours later, we got a call from my hostdad that the parcel from my parents from Germany had finally arrived (after around 2 weeks)! So we drove there to pick it up and when we came back I opened it! It contained mainly clothes that were to much for my suitcase, some dictionaries and some little things. After having a bagel for lunch, we (G, my hostdad and me) drove to NY!
After the about 3,5 hours long ride, where I got to see lots of the famous yellow taxis and some stadiums, we finally arrived at the Airport where we waited for G's friend, whose luggage unfortunately got lost! :( So she filled out a form and then we just drove back and made a short stop at Mc Donalds to get a short dinner (Chicken Nuggets and french fries) as we were all very hungry.

See you next time,
Sophie

Day #15: Skype, Soccer game and my Chemistry Book

Hey everyone!
So today was a lazy day again although it was the first School day for my host Brothers.
After having just some pancakes (again :)) for breakfast, I spent the whole prenoon with reading my summer reading and skyping with my Family at Germany, which I really enjoyed!

After having Belgian Waffles with Nutella (*_*!!!), Whipped Cream, Strawberries and Blueberries for lunch, I spent some more time at home, for example with putting all my photos onto my Laptop and "working" with some Pictures on my phone (I will probably Show you some examples tomorrow :)).
Then Harrison had a Soccer game about 40 minutes away, where all of us (besides of G, who was working) went with him. It was a really good game (Harrison's second 11 vs 11 game!), that finally ended wih 1-1. Unfortunately, Harrison got kicked into his culf, so that he couldn't Play the last 10 minutes. Luckily, he's all fine and nothing happened! :)

During the game, I also received my Chemistry Book from an "old" Sophomore for a Little bit more than the half of the Original, although it Looks completely new. And guess what - it has about 900 pages!!! :o As I was looking through it, I became really optimistic, as I think that I already know some of the subjects!!

See you next time,
Sophie
